Summary: The article describes the content of digital transformation as a new economic phenomenon, which implies the transition from the traditional economy to the digital one. Theoretical and practical bases of development of the concept of "digital economy" as the main factor of transformation of economy of the country are investigated, the main characteristics of digital economy are traced. The impact of the digital economy on the formation of internal gross product has been revealed. The advantages and disadvantages of digital transformation of the economy of the countries of the world are highlighted.
