Summary: In accordance with the process of manufacturing curvilinear blanks by the roll forging process in several passes tensor, a model of summation damage in the billet material has been developed. This model reflects the presence of four separate stages of the stress–strain state. The sensitivity of the damage accumulation rate to the degree of nonlinearity of damage accumulation at certain stages was investigated. For the first time, the effect of partial “healing” of damage in the processes with continuous changes of the directions of the principal strain increments was theoretically discovered.
