Аннотація: At different times, castle and palace construction became widespread on the territory of Vinnytsia. Given the current state, features of use and the level of popularization of monuments, a serious problem today is the awareness of the historical and architectural value of the castles and palaces of the region. Castles on the territory of the region were built in the pan-European context of the development of defensive structures, and underwent the same evolution as European fortifications. The situation is similar with palace construction, which became the realization of pan-European trends in architecture on the territory of Vinnytsia. A feature of the region is that objects of architectural art appeared in small, often remote settlements. According to rough estimates, there were more than 60 castles at different times, today there are only 7 fragmentarily preserved or in a state of ruins, of which 3 are not used in any way and therefore may add to the list of missing objects in the near future.
