Summary: The phenomenon in the activity of railway transport consisted in the fact that it ensured
a close connection between the front and the rear, which created quite a few advantages. Its special role in the conditions of the war is proved by the unprecedented scale and pace of the evacuation of material resources and people of Ukraine in 1941-1942. And even during the evacuation epic, transport was subordinated to military needs. The situation demanded the transport of a large number of military reinforcements, weapons and ammunition to the front.
