Summary: The aim of the article is to study the methodological tools for assessing the resource potential of the region. The purpose of determining the assessment and analysis of the use of resource potential of regions is to ensure economic growth. The principal methodological approach on the basis of the process approach to the management of the quality of economic growth is distinguished – the coordination of the region’s development potential with its results and the substantiation of the strategy for the future on this basis. Assessing the effectiveness of the use of resource potential of rural areas is determined by identifying external and internal threats of socio- economic and environmental orientation.
