Summary: The article analyzes the concept of "psychological assistance"; semantic emphasis is placed on the word "help", the scope and content of which is differentiated in terms of social psychology and the theory of social
interaction. The analysis of the purposes and forms of the organization of formal and informal help is carried out, the idealized social and psychological model of the organization and rendering of formal help in a modern society is presented.
