Summary: Today we can say that amaranth is a valuable fodder, food and medicinal plant, the green mass of which can be used in livestock production both in fresh form and for the preparation of silage and protein-vitamin concentrate. In terms of amino acid balance, green mass of amaranth is of the same quality as alfalfa, but compared with other legumes has a higher lysine content.
